The Magic Tree
Once, a long time ago, there was a tree. This tree was magical, it could grant the wishes of whoever would take one of its leaves and say the magic words; "Flabingo flabongo, gooble gobble gongo!" On one rainy night, a king was feeling sad, he sent his knights to bring him one of the magic tree's leaves. The three knights set out together. The first knight bragged about how quickly he'd bring the leaf to the king. The second complained about how long of a journey it was to bring such a worthless item. The third stayed silent, focused on the path.
When the knights came across their first obstacle: a fallen tree, the first knight hopped over it and continued on bragging about how fast he was. The second knight saw the tree and sat down, saying "It was too much effort and not worth his time." The third knight, seeing an easier option, walked around the tree and back onto the path. The two knights continued their journey until they met a witch. The witch, who had overheard the first knight's bragging, said to him "I challenge you to a race Sir knight, if you beat me I will fly you to the tree myself and save you the rest of your journey." The first knight, who was never one to decline a challenge, accepted. The third knight simply continued along the path, his focus never wavering. The knight and witch ran through the woods, both expertly dodging all the branches and trees along their way. Over time though, the first knight grew tired and eventually collapsed. The witch stood over him, he said to her "You've beaten me fair and square. Now what was your prize for beating me?" the witch simply smiled as she drew a wand from her belt and waved it towards him. "Gongo gobble gooble, flabongo flabingo!" the knight was instantly turned to a frog. He hopped away, ribbiting as he went.
The third knight, now alone, continued silently. The path led him through old towns, past mountains, over rivers and eventually right to the foot of the tree. The tree leaned down towards the man and said "You have done well in making it this far, you may take one of my leaves and make a wish. The magic words are Flabingo flabongo, gooble gobble gongo." The third knight looked up from the path for the first time, looked at the tree confused and shouted "I'm deaf! I can't hear you!"
